Should Gandhiji's belongings be auctioned??

This is not the first time that the Government of India and the Navjivan Trust are involved in a controversy over the auctioning of Mahatma Gandhi’s belongings. The current James Otis incident may not be the last time either.
But the question arises is whether these things should be auctioned or not??
Being an Indian I feel that these things belong to India and they are not for auctioning.
Its belongings of our "Father of Nation".Its a question of our national pride.

Mr. Jitendra Desai, the managing trustee of the Ahmedabad-based Navjivan Trust, set up by the Mahatma in 1929 says "It is for the auctioneer to establish the authenticity and certify the articles to be originals"

It is a good step taken by "Vijay Malya" to obtain the possession.
This has caused things to remain in India. He has won the auction with 9.3 cr.
Earlier also he has taken the possession of sword of Tipu Sultan in an auction and submitted it to the national treasure.
But the question remained answered whether such auctioning is correct or not?
We need to think over it.
